Saki Handa

As a senior optimization engineer on the Strategic Support Team, Saki supports clients with data preparation, technical communication, and implementation of optimization solutions for water distribution, collection system, and asset management.

Prior to joining Optimatics, Saki was a consulting engineer focusing on collection system and water distribution system modelling for Midwest and East Coast municipalities.

Saki earned an MS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a focus on sustainable resilient infrastructure systems. With her interest in climate resiliency, she continued her education in climate change adaptation at North Carolina State University and earned her MS certificate. She has strong interests in relationships for resiliency and water/wastewater infrastructure optimization. Saki has BS degrees in Mathematics, Physics, and Astronomy/Astrophysics from Indiana University Bloomington.
