Achim Zipse

Achim Zipse has over two decades of work experience in various roles related to research and development in the medical device industry. Achim currently holds the position of Head of New Product Development at optimed since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Project Manager in R&D at optimed from February 2020 to March 2021.

From 2014 to 2020, Zipse served as the Head of R&D Evotech Unit at Biedermann Motech. Before that, they were the Director of Nitinol Technologies at Nitinol Devices and Components GmbH from March 2012 to December 2013.

Zipse also gained valuable experience at CR Bard where they held the position of Senior Manager in Stent Design & Finite Element Analysis from July 1999 to March 2012. Achim'searly career involved working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) from September 1996 to June 1999.

Throughout their career, Zipse has demonstrated expertise in new product development, project management, and research in the medical device industry.

Achim Zipse obtained a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in the period from 1988 to 1993. Achim further pursued their education at KIT and earned a Dr.-Ing. degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1993 to 1996.
