Brandon Barker

Brandon Barker has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Brandon started their career as a Head Basketball/Track Coach at Yuma Union High School District/San Luis High School in 2007. From 2007 to 2009, they also worked as a Business/Computer Teacher at San Luis High School, where they taught various classes and managed equipment and supplies for the business department.

In 2009, Barker transitioned to become an Adjunct Instructor at Primavera Online High School and a Software Development Program Director at East Valley Institute of Technology. At Primavera, they instructed students for a year, while at East Valley, they managed student recruitment, advisory committees, program budget, and curriculum development, along with teaching programming, software design, and database development concepts.

Barker joined Epic in 2010 as a Technical Project Manager/Integration Engineer. While working there until 2012, they managed interface installations and led design, analysis, and testing strategies with 3rd party systems. Brandon also developed HL7 interfaces using Cache for large healthcare organizations.

In 2012, Barker joined OptimisCorp as the Director of Software Development, responsible for developing and implementing new processes to improve developer productivity. In 2013, they were promoted to EVP of Product Development and Engineering. In this role, they handled product strategy, design, management, and operations for OptimisPT, a leading niche EMR for physical therapists. Barker also oversaw the growth of product and engineering organizations and led the development of a new health and wellness platform to promote collaboration among healthcare providers.

Throughout their diverse work experience, Barker has showcased their skills in team leadership, program management, technical expertise, and curriculum development.

Brandon Barker received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University, where they attended from 2000 to 2007. During the same period, they also earned a minor in Computer Science from the same institution. In 2009, they pursued a Masters degree in Information Management from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, completing it in 2010.
