Senior Software Engineer at Optimism

Conner Fromknecht has a diverse and extensive work experience. Conner is currently working at OP Labs as a Senior Software Engineer starting from September 2021. Prior to that, Conner worked at Lightning Labs as the Head of Cryptographic Engineering from an unknown start date to June 2021. Conner has also worked at Enigma as a Core Developer in 2016.

Conner's earlier experiences include working as a Research Assistant at MIT CSAIL from September 2014 to May 2015, where they developed primitives to support the remote execution of encrypted finite state automata operating over encrypted data streams. Conner also worked as a Security Engineering Intern at Box from April 2014 to August 2014.

During their time at MIT CSAIL from January 2014 to June 2014, Conner worked as a Research Assistant and developed efficient cryptographic lattice primitives utilizing the Ring-LWE assumption. Conner contributed to the practical implementation of encryption schemes such as Identity-Based Encryption (IBE), Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE), and Functional Encryption (FE).

In 2013, Conner had two internships at eBay Inc as a Recommendation Science Intern. Conner developed recommendation algorithms for new users based on historical data and also contributed to the internal Scalding Analytics Platform.

In high school, Conner founded blacApps and served as the VP of Product Development. Their company developed iOS applications and reached a user base of 2.5 million individuals.

In 2012, Conner had a Formula SAE internship at MIT.

Conner Fromknecht pursued their education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Later, from 2015 to 2016, Conner pursued a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Computer Science from the same institution.
