Matt Mercer

Matt Mercer is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in incident response, digital forensics, and malware detection. Currently serving as a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant at Optiv Inc since September 2015, Matt supports high-profile clients in tackling cybersecurity incidents and enhancing their response capabilities through strategic consulting and development of incident response plans. Prior roles include serving as an Adjunct Professor at ITT Technical Institute, where instruction focused on computer forensics and programming, and as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst / Forensics Lead at BankUnited, managing malware investigations and eDiscovery. Matt’s career began at Motorola Mobility, where oversight of global forensic investigations was a key responsibility. Educationally, Matt holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on Web Technologies from Florida Atlantic University.
