Arwin Lijs

Arwin Lijs currently serves as the Group Head of Risk at Optiver, having joined the firm in October 2020, where responsibilities include managing global risk. Additionally, Arwin holds positions as a Board Member at Optiver FX Ltd and as Chief Risk Officer for Optiver FX/UK, overseeing both listed and OTC businesses. Previously, Arwin was the Interim Chief Risk Officer for Optiver US and has extensive experience as Head of Risk for Optiver UK, focusing on various trading products. Prior to Optiver, Arwin worked at Mizuho from 2013 to 2019, advancing through roles such as Executive Director and Head of Market Risk Management, where management encompassed market risk across fixed income, equities, and derivatives. A sabbatical period involved extensive travel and volunteer work, while earlier experience includes partnership and trading roles at Optiver. Arwin holds a Master of Science in Econometrics and Finance from the University of Groningen and has acquired certification as a Financial Risk Manager.
