Rens MacNeill

Rens MacNeill is an accomplished professional in the field of aerospace engineering and finance, currently serving as a Derivatives Trader at Optiver since February 2022, after previously working as a Trading Assistant at the same company from June 2021 to February 2022. Rens gained valuable experience as a Research Associate at Heidrick & Struggles in late 2013 and pursued an academic career at the University of Sydney, where Rens was a Doctoral Candidate from March 2015 to April 2020, focusing on propeller-based propulsion systems for small unmanned aerial vehicles, supported by the Aerospace Engineering Industry-Link Research Program. Rens also contributed to education as an Academic Tutor for various senior-level aerospace engineering subjects. Rens holds a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours and a Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering, both from the University of Sydney.
