Tim Smith

Tim Smith has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Tim currently holds the position of Director of Operations at OPTK Networks, where they oversee network operations and solutions engineering. Prior to this role, they worked as the Director of Network Operations at OPTK Networks and as a Manager of Infrastructure Optimization at Zayo Group. Before joining Zayo Group, Tim worked at OPTK Networks as a Network Architect and as an Operations & Engineering Supervisor. Tim also has experience as an IP Network Engineer at OPTK Networks. Tim's early career includes serving as the Director of Network Operations at Diode Communications, where they managed an ISP with multiple services and subscribers in Southeastern Nebraska.

Tim Smith completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Networking & Telecommunications from Fort Hays State University, which they attended from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Telecommunications and Network Technologies from North Central Kansas Technical College, where they studied from 2003 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Tim has obtained several certifications, including Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching), Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician, Security+, A+, Network+, CECP (Certified Ethical Cybersecurity Professional), and Juniper Networks Certified Associate, Junos (JNCIA-Junos).
