Toby Speight

Toby Speight has extensive work experience as a software engineer. Toby worked at Optos as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed user workflows, updated device drivers, and implemented an embedded USB camera system. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer at ION Geophysical, where they developed configuration and operation software for marine seismic survey hardware. Toby also worked at Citrix Systems, where they focused on secure distributed systems and developed tools and libraries for unit testing and static analysis. Toby began their career at APM Ltd, working on software development and later moving to Digitivity, Inc. In their early career, Toby worked as a labourer for a landscape gardener.

Toby Speight attended Rossett High School from 1983 to 1990, where they obtained their GCSE and A-Level certifications. Toby then enrolled at the University of Cambridge from 1990 to 1994 and pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering. Following this, Toby continued their education at the same university from 1994 to 1995, earning a degree named "ACDMM" in Design, Manufacturing, and Management. From 1995 to 2009, they were enrolled at the University of Cambridge once again, but this time, no specific degree was mentioned, and their field of study was described as a "social hanger-on." In April 2019, Toby obtained the SAFe 4 Scrum Master certification from Scaled Agile, Inc.
