Jacky Chen has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Jacky started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto in 2015. In 2016, they worked as a Co-op Analyst at BMO Financial Group. From 2017, they joined OPTrust and held several positions, including Investment Risk Analyst, Senior Analyst in Capital Market Risk, and Associate Portfolio Manager in Multi-Strategy Investing. Jacky then became a Principal in Total Fund Quantitative Strategies and later held the role of Director in the same department. In addition to their work at OPTrust, Jacky Chen has also been involved with the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, where they have worked as a Sessional Instructional Assistant and Machine Learning Researcher. Jacky is currently an Adjunct Professor and Sessional Lecturer, specializing in finance and innovations.
Jacky Chen completed their education with a Master's Degree in Financial Risk Management from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management in the years 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Financial Economics and Statistics from the University of Toronto from 2012 to 2016. In terms of additional certifications, Jacky obtained a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute in March 2022. Jacky also completed a course in Machine Learning from Coursera in January 2018 and obtained the Bloomberg Market Concepts certification from Bloomberg LP in August 2016.
