Cady Kocanda is an accomplished professional with a strong background in software engineering and biomedical engineering. Currently serving as an Associate Software Engineer and previously as a TDP Software Engineering Intern at Optum from June 2022 to June 2025, Cady has gained valuable experience in the tech industry. Additionally, Cady contributed as a Research Assistant in the Translational NeuroEngineering Lab at the University of Minnesota, assisting in rodent brain surgeries to explore neuromodulation strategies for mental disorders. Cady also served as a Teaching Assistant for an introductory computer science course, supporting student learning and engagement. Prior experience includes the role of Vice President of Inclusion for Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women, where Cady promoted meaningful conversations around social justice. Cady holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and is pursuing a Master’s degree in the same field at the University of Minnesota.
