Garrett Simmer currently serves as Sr Director of Consumer Engineering/Design at Optum since January 2025. Previously, Garrett worked at Delta Air Lines as Lead Innovation Designer from May 2019 to January 2025, focusing on integrating digital and physical design to enhance customer experience in travel. As a co-founder and Lead Designer at Lalabu, LLC from June 2010 to June 2013, Garrett invented and patented a simplified baby carrier for mothers. Additional experience includes serving as Lead Industrial Designer at Case-Mate, where Garrett led a team to create successful phone and tablet accessories, and as Product Design Lead at People of Resource, developing solutions for a diverse clientele. Early career roles include an intern position at Slingshot Product Development Group and a ministry internship at Georgia Tech Christian Campus Fellowship. Garrett holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
