Howard Stern

Howard Stern, MD, FACS, FAAOS, is an experienced, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon currently serving as the Medical Director of Clinical Advocacy and Support at Optum since May 2022. Originally from New York, Howard graduated with Highest Honors from The City University of New York with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and later earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia. After completing a General Surgery Internship and an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the same institution, Howard practiced as an orthopaedic surgeon for over 30 years, specializing in various surgical procedures. They have held significant positions in multiple healthcare organizations and are affiliated with several professional medical societies. Howard resides in Moseley, Virginia.
