Jacob Niederer

Jacob Niederer is a Principal Data Scientist at Optum, serving as a Senior Data Scientist specializing in disease prediction modeling for chronic diseases. Previously, Jacob worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma & Texas as a Senior Data Scientist, leading payment integrity projects and performing complex statistical analyses on claims data. Jacob's experience also includes a role as a Student Data Scientist at Metis, where multiple end-to-end data science projects were designed. Jacob began as a Graduate Research Assistant and later as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, focusing on high-resolution brain imaging and the integration of advanced MRI data in surgical navigation. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
