Kathryn Phillis

Kathryn Phillis, PhD, MHA, CCS, CPC, CRC, CPB is currently serving as the Senior Coding Implementation Director at Optum since September 2022, following a role as Director of Revenue Cycle Management. With extensive experience in healthcare finance, Kathryn held positions such as Financial Analyst at UnitedHealthcare and Cash Posting Manager at Iowa Health System. Additionally, Kathryn managed the Central Business Office at The Sedona Group and directed clinical redesign business systems at UnitedHealth Group. As an educator, Kathryn contributes as an Adjunct Faculty member teaching medical coding at both Purdue University Global and Black Hawk Community College. Kathryn's educational background includes a PhD in Health Care Policy and Administration from Trident University International, a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Kaplan University, and various certifications in medical coding.
