Matt Merten

Matt Merten is an innovative and results-driven IT executive currently serving as CIO of Optum Bank and CTO of Optum Financial at UnitedHealth Group. With extensive experience leading large technology organizations, they have been responsible for the architecture and technology strategy of financial services, managing an $18 billion bank and overseeing capital delivery exceeding $100 million annually. Prior to their roles at UnitedHealth Group, Merten held various positions at Kimberly-Clark, where they contributed to manufacturing and quality assurance projects. Merten earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, and Industrial Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
