Arvind Kumar, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Arvind is currently serving as a Mentor & Investor at ZenOncoIO since May 2021. Previously, they held the position of Vice President - R&D at Optym, starting in December 2019. Alongside this role, Arvind also served as the Managing Director of Optym India Operations from April 2013 to November 2019, where they managed a team of over 50 members and provided strategic guidance in research, development, and operations, with a focus on mobility solutions for intercity and intracity transportation.

Before joining Optym, Arvind worked as a Director at the same company from September 2005 to March 2013. In this role, they assisted the BHP Billiton Management Team in diagnosing issues and offering recommendations for a scheduling project, led the design and development of a Business Intelligence solution for Canadian Pacific, and provided strategic advice to Deutsche Bahn on train and block planning systems.

Arvind has also served as an Advisor - Applied OR at Hopstack since March 2022, Thoucentric Labs since November 2020, and Laminaar Aviation Infotech from February 2021 to January 2022. Additionally, they worked as a Mentor & Investor at Elocity from November 2019 to September 2021, where they provided guidance in the electromobility domain and contributed to the development of EV charge point management solutions and IoT+cloud platforms for analyzing EV charging behavior and grid load.

Arvind's earlier work experience includes being a Research Assistant at the University of Florida from August 2001 to August 2005. In this role, they played a leading role in developing a solution for Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy Planning, which involved applying financial optimization concepts and resulted in the publication of their findings in peer-reviewed journals.

Arvind Kumar, PhD, has an impressive education history. Arvind first attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they obtained their Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they pursued further academic achievements and enrolled at the University of Florida. There, they completed their PhD in Industrial Engineering between 2001 and 2005. Returning to their studies later in their career, Arvind Kumar attended the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. In 2018 and 2019, they participated in the Advanced Management Program, focusing on Leadership and Strategy. Through these educational experiences, Arvind Kumar has developed a strong foundation in engineering, industrial studies, and leadership principles.
