Gerry Preston has extensive work experience in the field of vehicle emissions testing and management. Gerry started their career as a Budget and Economic Analyst at the State of Oregon in August 1986 and held the position until February 1989. From March 1989 to December 2006, they worked as a Program Manager in the same organization.

In January 2007, Gerry became the Vehicle Inspection Program Manager at the State of Oregon, a role in which they managed a team of 100 staff members across 8 locations. Gerry was responsible for developing and managing a $30 million budget and making fee adjustments. This position required him to work independently in a highly visible and often controversial program. Gerry held this position until July 2018.

In August 2018, Gerry joined Applus Technologies as the Director of Strategic Initiatives. As part of the 8-member Executive Team, they collaboratively lead initiatives to meet the emerging needs of existing and prospective clients. Gerry'sresponsibilities include building and maintaining rapport with clients' senior leaders, providing consultation and written proposals to state and local government leaders, and advancing vehicle emissions testing programs.

Gerry Preston holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Economics from Willamette University. The dates of enrollment are not specified.
