Mitchell Lee has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Mitchell is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Ora Biomedical, Inc. and is responsible for leading the company. Prior to this, they worked as a CoMotion Commercialization Fellow at the University of Washington, where they focused on commercializing research findings. Mitchell also served as a Senior Fellow at the Promislow Lab, where they conducted research on the biology of aging.
Before their roles in academia, Mitchell was a PHD Student at the University of Washington - School of Medicine, studying the connection between cancer biology and aging. Mitchell Lee received their education from various institutions. In 2007 to 2010, they attended Western Washington University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During the same period, they also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the same university. From 2010 to 2012, Mitchell pursued a Master of Science degree in Biology at Western Washington University. Mitchell continued their education at the University of Washington, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pathology/Molecular Medicine from 2012 to 2018. In 2021 and 2022, Mitchell attended the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business and received a certificate in Biotechnology Project Management. In terms of additional certifications, Mitchell obtained a HHMI Molecular Medicine certification from the University of Washington - School of Medicine in April 2016. Additionally, they completed a Science Communication Fellowship at the Pacific Science Center in August 2015.
