Mark Abelson

Mark Abelson is a distinguished ophthalmologist and clinical researcher, recognized as the founder of Ora, Inc., a leading ophthalmic clinical research firm established in 1979, which has facilitated 38 FDA approvals over three decades. Abelson holds an Honorary Doctor of Science from Bates College and served as Surgeon Emeritus at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Additionally, a part-time professor at Harvard Medical School from 2010 to 2015, Abelson has held several academic and clinical positions, contributing to the Schepens Eye Research Institute as a Trustee and Clinical Senior Scientist, and serving as a Senior Surgeon at both Lawrence General Hospital and Holy Family Hospital from 1977 to 2015.
