Chris Newman is a Senior Principal Engineer at Oracle, specializing in highly-scalable server architecture and Internet application protocols, particularly in email. Chris has extensive experience in multi-threaded IMAP server design and has contributed to various IETF standards throughout their career. Previously, Chris held positions at Sun Microsystems and Innosoft International, contributing to the development of scalable messaging servers and authentication systems. With a BS in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Chris has been an active participant and Area Director in the Internet Engineering Task Force since 1992.
