Principal Hardware Engineer

Dan Vo is an accomplished hardware engineer with extensive experience in physical design and high-speed I/O implementation. Beginning a career as a hardware engineer at New Focus from March 1993 to March 1998, Dan contributed to the design, building, and testing of photodetectors and laser diode systems, and facilitated product introduction into manufacturing. Following this role, Dan served at Sun Microsystems from March 1998 to October 2002, progressing through various engineering roles to lead mixed-signal SerDes physical design and high-speed I/O implementation efforts. Since January 2010, Dan has been a Principal Hardware Engineer at Oracle, where significant contributions include delivering SerDes and high-speed I/O clusters for multiple microprocessors and participating in early project phases to estimate die sizes. Dan Vo holds a BSEE and an MSEE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and San Jose State University, respectively.
