Mark Moir is an Architect at Oracle Labs, where they have held various positions since 2010, including Consulting Member of Technical Staff and Principal Member of Technical Staff. Prior to this, they served as a Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems from 2000 to 2010, leading the Scalable Synchronization Research Group. Mark was also an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh from 1996 to 2000 and worked as a consultant from 1988 to 1991. They earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science from Victoria University of Wellington.
