Qiang Wang is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure since April 2016, having previously held roles such as Consulting Member of Technical Staff and Principal Member of Technical Staff. Qiang Wang has contributed significantly to the high-performance block storage service for Oracle's Gen2 IaaS and led the OCI Paravirtualized Block Volume Attachments for VMs project. Prior to Oracle, Qiang Wang worked at Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer from September 2008 to April 2016, where core features for Azure SQL Database were developed, including enhancements that dramatically increased database replica build throughput. Earlier experience includes a role as a software developer at Motorola Inc. China, focusing on mobile phone software for specific markets. Qiang Wang holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, a Master's in Computer Engineering from Nanjing University, and a Bachelor's in Computer Science from Nanjing University.
