Samitha Herath

Samitha Herath is a Senior Applied Scientist at Oracle, with previous experience as a Senior Machine Learning Specialist at Additive Assurance. They began their career as an Engineering Trainee at the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau and later at Sri Lanka Telecom. Samitha also served as a Temporary Instructor at the University of Peradeniya, where they evaluated assignments for electronics and control systems undergraduates. They conducted research as a Research Fellow at Monash University, focusing on Active Learning, Semi-supervised Learning, and Domain Adaptation. Samitha earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Peradeniya and a PhD in Machine Learning and Computer Vision from The Australian National University.
