Seema Verma is the EVP and GM for Oracle Health and Life Sciences. In that role, she leads Oracle’s clinical and clinical trials applications businesses.
Seema is focused on bringing new technology to market that will cultivate an integrated healthcare and life sciences ecosystem capable of accelerating breakthroughs in medical treatments and improvements in patient care, while reducing administrative burden for caregivers. She is also the driving force behind Oracle’s new next generation electronic health record (EHR) system.
Prior to her role at Oracle, Seema was confirmed by the US Senate on a bipartisan basis to serve as the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). She served from 2017 to 2021, making her one of the longest-serving administrators in recent history. Her many successes led to Modern Healthcare naming her the No. 1 most influential person in healthcare in 2019.
Seema earned a B.S. in Life Sciences from the University of Maryland and a Master’s of Public Health, Health Policy & Administration from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
