Tate Kernell

Tate Kernell, PhD, is currently the VP of AI & Engineering at Illuminate, where they lead the design and development of impactful solutions utilizing large language models and generative AI. With a rich background in data science and engineering, Tate has held various roles, including Head of Data Science and Senior Data Scientist at Illuminate, and Data Scientist at Cerner Corporation. Their earlier experience includes positions at the United States Department of Defense, Sabre Corporation, and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Tate earned a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Baylor University, where they also served as a graduate lecturer and research assistant.
