Thomas Shull is currently a Principal Researcher at Oracle Labs, where they work on the GraalVM project. Previously, they served as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2012 to 2020 while completing their PhD in Computer Science, focusing on hardware-software co-designs. They also held a position as an Open Source Software contributor at Arm, improving the AArch64 port of the Substrate Virtual Machine component of GraalVM. In addition, Thomas pursued a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, complementing an earlier Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the same institution.
