Joseph Lee

Joseph Lee has over twelve years of work experience in the engineering field. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as a Second Engineer/Engineering Cadet at Wightlink, where they maintained watch in the engine room and performed maintenance tasks throughout the daily operations and during dry-dock refits. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a 4th Engineering Officer/Safety Maintenance Manager at Holland America Line, where they maintained continuous engine room watches and managed several mechanics for timely preventative and emergency maintenance. Joseph also managed inventory of specialist parts, and external suppliers, to ensure achievement of planned and emergency projects and conducted safety training and issued work permits. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a 3rd Engineering Officer at Royal Fleet Auxiliary, where they attended Britannia Royal Naval College for initial officer training and commanded heavy machinery and subordinates in mock conflict zones. From 2015 to 2022, they worked as a Lead Electrical Engineer at Sustainable Marine Energy Ltd, where they designed and installed control and SCADA systems, automation wiring, data logging and power conditioning equipment for tidal turbine's electrical systems. Joseph also developed software in C, C++, C#, Python, CSS, HTML and JavaScript. Currently, they are working as a Ground Segment Software Engineer at Orbex.

Joseph Lee has a diverse educational background. Joseph began their studies in 2008 at Isle of Wight College, where they obtained a City and Guilds Level 2 in Electro-technical Installation. Joseph then moved on to City of Glasgow College, where they completed an HNC in Marine Engineering from 2010 to 2013. In 2015, Joseph attended Britannia Royal Naval College for Officer Training. Joseph is currently enrolled in Abertay University, where they are studying for a BSc in Ethical Hacking with a focus in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance, and is expected to graduate in 2023. Joseph also holds certifications in Engine Room Resource Management and Engineer Of The Watch.
