Maya Acker

Maya Acker has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2005 with a role as a High School Science Teacher at Sauk Prairie High School. In 2005, they also took on a role as a Middle School Science Teacher at Madison Metropolitan School District. In 2006, they moved to Poynette High School, where they worked as a High School Science Teacher. During their time at Poynette, they enjoyed working closely with special education staff and students to ensure inclusive environments and learning opportunities, and served as sophomore class advisor. In 2012, they began working as a Supplemental Instruction Leader for Anatomy and Physiology at Madison Area Technical College. In 2014, they started working at UnityPoint Health - Meriter, where they held roles as a Clinical Informatics Nurse Specialist and RN. Most recently, in 2021, they began working at Orbita, where they currently hold roles as Director of Customer Success & Clinical Informatics, Customer Success Manager - Implementation Lead, and Customer Success Manager.

Maya Acker has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they obtained between 1999 and 2005. In 2013 and 2014, they obtained a B.S. in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Maya also holds certifications from Epic, including Clinical Case Management Certification (November 2018), OpTime Certification (August 2018), EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation Certification (May 2017), and a Registered Nurse certification from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (June 2014).
