John Basila

John Basila has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. John is currently working at Orca Security as an Engineering Enablement Tech Lead, a position they have held since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as the DevOps Lead at Orca Security from August 2019 to February 2022. Before joining Orca Security, John worked as a Senior DevOps at Palo Alto Networks from June 2018 to July 2019. John also has a significant tenure at Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd., where they held various roles. These roles include Architect, where they focused on implementing advanced build systems using Bazel and leading the conversion of over 700 modules to work with Bazel; Threat Emulation Team Leader, where they designed and developed the Threat Emulation product; Identity Awareness Team Leader and Technology Leader, where they worked on the infrastructure and enforcement of the Identity Awareness product; VPN Site-to-Site Team Leader and Software Developer, where they were responsible for communication and encryption between sites over VPN channels; and Identity Awareness Team Leader, where they laid the foundation for the product. John also has experience working at Camelot as a File System Software Developer and at Publicom as a System Administrator, responsible for Unix systems. John began their career at Netvision as a Technical Support professional.

John Basila attended the University of Haifa from 1994 to 1998, where they pursued a degree in Mathematics & Computer Science. However, they did not graduate from the program.
