John Caputo

John Caputo is an experienced professional in the agricultural sector with a strong focus on organic and seed certification. Currently serving as an Organic Inspector/Reviewer for Oregon Tilth, Inc. since 2007, Caputo conducts organic inspections for crop, livestock, and processing facilities, while reviewing operations for compliance. Prior to this role, Caputo worked as a Seed Certification Specialist at Oregon Seed Certification Service from 1992 to 2005, where responsibilities included inspecting seedling and crop varieties for disease and purity. Earlier in their career, from 1986 to 1992, Caputo was an Agronomist at Seed Research of Oregon, Inc., managing seed production contracts and advising farmers on best practices. Caputo holds a Master of Science degree in Soil Fertility from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Soil Science from the University of Idaho.
