Aaron Sumner

Aaron Sumner has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Aaron currently works as an Associate Engineering Manager at O'Reilly Media, where they have taken on various roles. Previously, at O'Reilly Media, Aaron worked as a Senior Software Engineer, where they led department-wide security initiatives and mentored junior developers. Before that, they served as a Software Engineer and was responsible for improving various aspects of O'Reilly's conferences software. Aaron also worked as a Web Application Developer at O'Reilly, where they integrated a single sign-on system into new and legacy applications.

In addition to their work at O'Reilly Media, Aaron has also worked at other organizations. Aaron was the Owner of Binary BBQ, a consulting company specializing in web application development in the education research space. Aaron has been involved in freelance web development since 1999 and has provided services to small businesses, nonprofits, and academic entities. Aaron has also worked at the University of Kansas, where they held positions such as Director of Technology for Research and Development and Technology Coordinator. At the University of Washington, they worked as a Senior Computing Specialist, and at the University of Kansas Medical Center, they worked as a Web Developer. Aaron'sresponsibilities in these roles included developing web software, administering servers, and managing technology-related projects.

Aaron Sumner completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from The University of Kansas from 1991 to 1995. Later, from 2006 to 2008, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Emporia State University.
