Itay Lieder has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. In 2010, they worked as a Research Assistant at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. From 2015 to 2016, they served as a Teacher Assistant and Teacher at Azrieli College of Engineering Jerusalem. In 2016, they worked as a Data Scientist at Intel Corporation and also had a brief stint as a Machine Learning Consultant at Teva Pharmaceuticals. In 2017, they worked as a Deep Learning Consultant at Intuit.
In 2016, they started working with O'Reilly Media, where they authored a book titled "Learning TensorFlow, a guide to building Deep Learning systems" and provided corporate training on Deep Learning with TensorFlow.
Itay continued their journey with Intel Corporation in 2018 and took on roles as a Data Science R&D Team member from 2018 to 2019, and as a Data Science R&D Team lead from 2020 onwards.
Alongside their corporate roles, Itay has also shared their expertise as a Teacher at Tel Aviv University since 2019 and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem since 2021.
Itay Lieder began their education at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Cognitive Sciences from 2008 to 2010. Itay then pursued a Master's Degree in Computational Neuroscience from the same university, which they completed from 2010 to 2013. Lieder continued their studies at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computational Neuroscience from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, they spent some time in 2015 and 2016 at the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit at UCL, focusing on computational neuroscience.
