Peyton Joyce has a diverse work experience background. They started their career as a Temporary Administrative Assistant at TRAK Companies in 2006. They then became a Tutor at C2 Education, where they assisted elementary, middle, and high school students in English and literature. From 2007 to 2009, Peyton worked as an Instructor at ELS Educational Services, Inc, teaching English to international undergraduate and graduate students. They also designed elective classes and facilitated off-site opportunities for students. In 2011, they transitioned to become an Instructor in the AELG Program at Montgomery College, where they designed and taught English language courses for adult immigrants, focusing on American history and culture.

Peyton then worked at George Washington University in various roles, including Dissertation Fellow, where they conducted research for their dissertation project in American Literature. They also served as the Graduate Representative for the English WID (Writing in the Disciplines) Program Review, leading a research project and providing recommendations for improvement. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Adjunct Instructor, teaching a variety of courses in American literature and culture.

In 2015, Peyton took on freelance roles as a Proofreader at BBDO San Francisco, leading proofreading efforts for the Wells Fargo account and reviewing materials for agency new-business pitches. They also worked as a Copy Editor at Restoration Hardware, Open Verse, and O'Reilly Media, where they edited conference websites, newsletters, and other content in accordance with specific style guidelines. Currently, Peyton still holds the role of Copy/Content Editor at O'Reilly Media. Throughout their positions, Peyton demonstrated strong writing and editing skills, as well as a passion for literature and culture.

Peyton Joyce has a strong educational background in literature and language. They began their academic journey at George Mason University where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from 1999 to 2003. Building on this foundation, Peyton pursued further education at Georgetown University and earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in English Literature from 2007 to 2009. Continuing their quest for knowledge, Peyton then attended The George Washington University and achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in American Literature (United States), completing their studies from 2009 to 2017.

In addition to their degree qualifications, Peyton has also obtained a TEFL Certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) from TEFL International in October 2004, showcasing their commitment to teaching and language instruction.
