Thomas Heylen has worked in various roles since 2016. Thomas began their career as a Stock Control Assistant at Timespace Technology Limited. In 2018, they held a Work Experience role at eg technology Ltd and a Summer Intern role at Owlstone Medical. From 2019 to 2023, Thomas worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Cambridge Consultants, where they were responsible for the creation of the casework for a synthetic blood vessel fluidics system and the design of a next-generation hybrid tobacco product. Thomas also developed a sustainable shampoo concept and worked on an 'intern-only' project to develop a kitchen product that uses machine vision to collect user data. Currently, Thomas is an Associate Mechanical Engineer at Ori Biotech.
Thomas Heylen completed their A Levels at Hills Road Sixth Form College in 2014-2016. Thomas then went on to pursue their Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University, which they completed in 2022.
