Joel L.

Joel L. has more than 25 years of work experience in the field of cyber security and control systems engineering. Joel is currently employed at Orica as the Lead IT/OT Cyber Security Engineer, where they have successfully implemented a cloud-based industrial cybersecurity solution and is responsible for various cybersecurity functions. Prior to that, Joel worked at a confidential company as an Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security Engineer/Specialist/Consultant from 2020 to 2022. Joel has also held positions at Petroleum Development Oman and Shell as a Senior OT/ICS Cyber Security Engineer and a Senior Control & Automation Engineer respectively. In addition, they have experience working at Shell Philippines Exploration and Production (SPEX) B.V. as a Lead Commissioning Engineer and at Emerson as a Senior DeltaV Control Systems Engineer. Joel began their career at Electro-Systems Industries Corporation as a System Engineer, where they installed building automation systems in various customer buildings.

Joel L. obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from AMA University, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. In addition to their degree, they have also acquired two certifications. In March 2019, they became a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from the OHI Group of Companies. Later, in May 2023, they obtained the Claroty CyberSecurity Analyst (CCA 601) certification from Claroty.
