Jack Shield, PhD, is a Senior Scientist and Portfolio Manager at Origen, where they contribute to the development of limestone-based direct air capture technology aimed at sequestering CO₂ to combat climate change. Previously, Jack held a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Manchester and completed a PhD focused on molecular machines under the supervision of Prof. David A Leigh. They also participated in a year abroad at The University of Western Australia during their academic journey.
