Jay Wheatley

Jay Wheatley has over 17 years of experience in various roles related to financial risk management and modeling. Jay has worked at Origin Bank since 2018, starting as a Vice President and later becoming the Senior Vice President, ACL Model Manager. In this role, Jay is responsible for developing and implementing CECL models, conducting quantitative analysis, and documenting qualitative adjustments. Jay also presents the calculated Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) to executive management, board meetings, and auditors. Additionally, Jay maintains a scorecard for ACL qualitative adjustments, using complex mathematical formulas to review and assess the impact on the calculation. Prior to joining Origin Bank, Jay worked at Trustmark Bank for 14 years in various roles, including Vice President of Loan Loss Reserve Manager, Loan Loss Reserve Consultant, and Retail Portfolio Risk Consultant.

Jay Wheatley completed their high school education at Picayune Memorial High School from 1983 to 1986. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics at Worcester State University, graduating in 1991.
