Steven Dewar

Steven Dewar is an experienced geologist with extensive expertise in the evaluation of coal seam gas (CSG) potential across the Surat Basin in South East Queensland. Currently serving as a Senior Development Geologist at Origin Energy since January 2014, Steven has successfully led exploration and appraisal scope definition and planning, including new drilling initiatives and data collection for technical studies. Previous roles at Origin Energy include Development Geologist and Operations Geologist, where Steven was responsible for overseeing geological data acquisition and serving as the primary contact for drilling operations. Steven's early experience as a Vacation Student Geologist at 3D-GEO involved geological and geophysical interpretation, seismic analysis, and well management using Petrel software. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences and a Bachelor of Science in Geology/Earth Science, both from the University of Melbourne.
