David Colburn

David Colburn has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. David started their career as an Account Manager at Arthurs Jones Lithography in 1981 and worked there until 1992. From 1993 to 1994, they served as a Production Manager at Spencer Francey Peters. David then joined The Financial Post, where they initially served as a Production Manager and later as a Product Manager from 1994 to 1998. At The Financial Post, they successfully managed the transition of a publication from offset printing to digital production and launched its web version.

In 1998, David joined Canada NewsWire as the Manager of Strategic Projects, where they supervised the internet businesses and led a project team to enhance client service and e-commerce functions for the company's website. In 2002, they started their own web development and graphic design consultancy, specializing in deploying content management systems for small and medium-sized businesses and non-profit organizations. David employed web standards methodologies to create visually appealing and meaningful publications.

David joined St. Lawrence College in 2008 as a Professor, teaching courses in Integrated Marketing & Communications and Graphic Design programs until 2013. During their time at the college, they specialized in internet marketing, business, web design, and HTML/CSS.

In 2013, David joined Myplanet, initially as a Scrum Master/Product Owner, responsible for product enhancement, extension, and support. David quickly progressed within the organization and held various roles, including Senior Customer Success Manager, Agile Coach, Interim Head of Business Alignment, and ultimately the Head of Business Alignment. David contributed to a team-based approach to product development and problem-solving and demonstrated adaptability by taking on different roles as required by project engagements.

Currently, David works at Orium as the Director of Alignment and Chief of Staff since March 2022.

David Colburn earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Queen's University, where they studied from 1972 to 1976. In 1992, they attended George Brown College and completed a Diploma in Digital Imaging & Electronic Pre-Press. Furthermore, David has obtained several certifications, including Certified LeSS Practitioner from The LeSS Company B.V. in February 2019, and certifications from Scrum Alliance and Scrum.org in various agile project management methodologies.
