Birte Hansen

Birte Hansen is a seasoned project manager and environmental specialist with extensive experience in offshore wind energy and environmental permitting. Birte began the professional journey as an International Project Coordinator at Kampsax A/S International Consulting, managing environmental development projects funded by international donors. Subsequently, as an Environmental Consultant at Orbicon, Birte focused on Environmental Impact Assessments for infrastructure and wind energy projects in Denmark. From December 2007 to December 2010, Birte served as the Lead Environment & Permitting Specialist at DONG Energy, where responsibilities included preparing Environmental Impact Assessments and securing permit compliance. Birte continued to build expertise at Ørsted as a Permitting Project Manager from December 2010 to July 2022 and currently operates as a Project Manager at Ørsted, with time spent as a Senior Project Manager and Technical Director of Offshore Wind at WSP from August 2022 to September 2023. Birte holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology from Aarhus Universitet and a Master of Science in Biology & Landscape Management from the University of Copenhagen.
