David Young is a seasoned professional in the offshore renewable energy sector, currently serving as a Senior Cable Specialist at Ørsted since October 2020. Previously, David held the position of Cable Specialist. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Engineer focusing on offshore electrical infrastructure at Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult from June 2016 to October 2020, and a Research Engineer position at the Industrial Doctoral Centre for Offshore Renewable Energy, where the EngD thesis centered on predicting the failure of dynamic offshore cables. David's early career involved a stint as a Wells Engineering Undergrad at BP and as an Environmental Engineer at Universidade Federal de Viçosa. David holds an Engineering Doctorate in Offshore Renewable Energy from The University of Edinburgh and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen's University Belfast.
