Jason Smith

Jason Smith, MBA, PE, currently serves as VP/Head of Onshore Transmission at Ørsted, leading the US Onshore Transmission team in the execution of renewable energy projects from conception through long-term operation. Prior roles include Senior Director of Transmission Americas and Director of Transmission at Xcel Energy, where Jason managed energy market development in the Western Interconnection and coordinated transmission and merchant operations. Experience also includes serving as Operations Lead at Peak Reliability, focusing on bulk electric system operations and market strategy, and Manager of Reliability Standards Development at Southwest Power Pool, overseeing NERC compliance and reliability policy. Jason holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Arkansas State University and an MBA from Western Governors University.
