Joey Velarde

Joey Velarde is a Senior Commodity Analyst at Ørsted, specializing in risk management, commodities price hedging, and finance since February 2023. Prior to this role, Joey served as a Senior Business Analyst, focusing on supply chain and CAPEX model development for floating wind projects. Experience includes positions as a Senior Consultant and Consultant in Offshore Wind at Ramboll from January 2020 to January 2023, and as a Ph.D. Researcher at COWI from November 2016 to November 2019, where the research focused on probabilistic methods in design optimization of offshore wind foundations as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship program. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Aalborg University, with additional studies as a Visiting Scientist at EPFL, and dual master's degrees in Offshore and Dredging Engineering and Wind Energy from Delft University of Technology, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines.
