Klaus Dons

Klaus Dons is a Senior GIS Specialist at Ørsted since February 2021, bringing extensive experience in GIS consulting from previous roles at Sweco and Geoinfo A/S. With a background in spatial analysis, machine learning, and web application development, Klaus has specialized in areas such as vehicle routing optimization and the production of orthomosaics from drone data. Prior to these roles, Klaus served as a PhD-student and Research Assistant at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on land cover classification and forest degradation modeling using GIS and remote sensing. Additionally, Klaus held various managerial positions related to student admission and development collaboration at the University. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Geospatial and Environmental Analysis and degrees in Forest and Landscape Engineering and Environmental Science from the University of Copenhagen.
