Orthopaedic Trauma Specialists was established by Dr. Michael H. Handy, MD in 2007 to serve the complex orthopaedic and fracture care of the city of Greensboro and surrounding area.

We specialize in the treatment of multitude of complex orthopaedic issues including:

1. Pelvis and acetabular (hip socket) fractures
2. Periarticular fractures (around the joint) of both upper and lower extremities
3. Polytraumatized patients (multiple extremity injuries)
4. Post-traumatic reconstructions for deformities of upper and lower extremities
5. Non-unions (non-healing fractures)
6. Osteoporosis management and bone health
7. Pediatric Fractures

Dr. Kevin P. Haddix, MD joined Orthopaedic Trauma Specialists in 2018. Drs. Handy and Haddix are the only fellowship trained surgeons in orthopaedic trauma in Greensboro and the surrounding area. Both surgeons are members of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and are involved on both local and national levels in the advancement of orthopaedic trauma. We work closely to direct the orthopaedic trauma program for Moses Cone Hospital, an American College of Surgeons (ACS) Level II Trauma Center.
