OSCAR (Open Source tools for Climate Adaptation & Resilience) is a nonprofit, open-source platform that democratizes access to world-class climate adaptation and resilience (A/R) tools.

Our mission is to ensure that every community can freely access the data, models, and planning capabilities needed to understand future climate risks, develop robust adaptation strategies, secure fair financing and insurance, and strengthen governance. OSCAR removes cost and complexity barriers by providing free, user-friendly, and interoperable tools built on over one million lines of open-source code contributed through OS-Climate and partners.

The OSCAR suite includes tools for assessing physical and transition risks, identifying priority adaptation options, drafting finance-ready plans and proposals, and simulating multi-scenario transitions. Users can integrate geospatial, economic, and asset-level data, leverage open models, and coordinate across agencies and stakeholders — all within a unified platform.

Through open technology, shared knowledge, and community-driven innovation, OSCAR aims to support a more equitable, data-informed, and collaborative approach to climate adaptation worldwide.
