Barbara Trionfi is the Acting Principal Adviser to the OSCE Representative on Media Freedom and formerly served as the Executive Director of the International Press Institute (IPI). In their current role, they monitor media developments and advocate for compliance with media freedom commitments. Between March 2023 and April 2024, they focused on the challenges faced by journalists covering climate issues, producing influential publications on the subject. Barbara has also taught various media courses at Webster University in Vienna and has held significant positions on several international boards related to press freedom. They received the Decoration of Merit in Gold from the Republic of Austria in 2022 for their contributions to freedom of expression and journalists' safety.
