John Cuesta

John Cuesta, CFA, is a diplomatic and pragmatic leader currently serving as the Director of the Culture & Compliance Risk Division at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions of Canada, a position held since 2018. With a career spanning from 2005 to the present at this institution, John has also served in various roles, including Director of the Corporate Governance Division and Special Advisor to the Superintendent. Prior to this, John gained experience as a Financial Analyst at Merrill Lynch Canada and held managerial positions at Citibank N.A. and Bankers Trust Company. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Ateneo de Manila University and two Master of Business Administration degrees, one from The Asian Institute of Management and another from Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business.
